Julien Macdonald: I'm sworn to secrecy about Kate's wedding dress

I've known Julien Macdonald for YEARS - from glamour of backstage fashion frenzies at his high octane runway shows to the sub-zero temperatures of a catwalk class alongside the Britain's Next Top Model hopefuls in a freezing desolate warehouse in deepest darkest south London.

So if he was designing Kate Middleton's dress for the royal wedding, I'm pretty sure I'd be the first to know about it. Wouldn't I?

'I am sworn to secrecy, I can't speak about it,' he whispered to me at the glamorous launch of his brand new designer diffusion range Diamond by Julien Macdonald at Debenhams at plush members' club Home House.

The Merthyr Tydfil-born king of the catwalk has dressed glamazons such as Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Cheryl Cole, and most recently Camden scenester Eliza Doolittle at the In Style Best Of British Talent party at Shoreditch House this week so he'd be a fitting choice for Kate's wedding to Prince William of Wales.

Famed for his daring designs, and show-stopping styles, if Kate got the Julien Macdonald treatment on her big day what could we expect?

'I would stay true to her style which is effortless chic, and classical, but with a twist,' Julien confided.

'You might get a surprise,' he winked. Prince William's a lucky boy!
