Ibiza VIP: The Blue Marlin, Darling!

Find the famous and fabulous at Blue Marlin in Cala Jondal, Ibiza

If heaven was a place on earth, it would probably be the Blue Marlin.

This super-sexy beach club in the bay of Cala Jondal not only gives out its address but also its map coordinates - GPS 38°52.073N' 1°19.045E - for their clientele who wish to rock up by yacht and has played host to a hot-list of Hollywood hard-hitters from Leonardo di Caprio to Queen Latifah.

But the rest of us may recognise the name-drop from the lyrics of Blue Marlin regular Dizzee Rascal's summer anthem Holiday:

'Cos we're going Ibiza / I've got friends that really wanna meet ya / With champagne and a whole lot of love /  It's all good darlin', the Blue Marlin will please ya.'

As we were shown to our circular VIP cabana bed on the Blue Marlin's 'primera fila' - Spanish for 'front row' - sadly there was no sign of Dizzee. 

But, wait a minute, wasn't that my friend Aston Merrygold from JLS with Big Brother's JJ Bird soaking up the sun with a group of mates on a lads' only holiday?

'We were at KM5 last night, so we're just about to get a bit of breakfast,' Aston told me, eyeing the menu. It was lunch time.

We recommended the Blue Marlin's carrot and ginger juice.

Not that it looked like Aston needed the energy.

'We usually go for a naked run along the beach later!'

So as well as our stunning view of the bay of Cala Jondal, seeing Aston from JLS in his swimming trunks came a very close second.

While Aston was thinking about breakfast, it was time for us to join Balearic royalty Charlie Chester - legendary music promoter and the Godfather of Ibiza glamour - and his missus, producer and international superstar DJ Jo Mills for salad and sushi from the Blue Marlin menu.

Sun, sea, style, stars, sashimi...what more could a girl who has
everything ask for? Blue Marlin massages? OK, then...

After a hard day's luxe lounging on our VIP cabana bed, we made Aston jealous by booking in some much-needed sun-set Swedish massages.

At sun-down, the Blue Marlin seamlessly transforms from a VIP beach club to a super-glam, get-the-party started, pre-club hang-out with Sarah Harding's boyfriend DJ Tommy Crane as the resident DJ.

And unsurprisingly, this heavenly haunt is now my favourite place on earth!
