My Heathrow Airport style blitz

Alison Tay Heathrow Harrods
Alison Tay's fashion fly-by in Terminal 5

My best holiday fashion tip is always carry on all your designer and vintage, plus your favourite bikini, a change of underwear and something to sleep in.

I learned this the hard way after my case went missing on a romantic weekend in Barcelona with my male model ex...

Thank you Ryan Air.

But if you're as last minute about packing for your holiday as I am, you'll love Heathrow Airport's Reserve & Collect service.

Buy before you fly by shopping online for brands such as Missoni, Mulberry, Reiss and Cath Kidston at airport prices online at HeathrowAirport.com then collecting your purchases from the departure lounge leaving you more time to tear through the terminal before you board.

The most committed among us will gain even more shopping time before
take-off by checking in online if your airline offers it too.

Heathrow aims to make every journey better by offering passengers the West End for less, so my first stop at Terminal 5 was Sunglass Hut where I picked up a pair of Rayban Clubmasters for £91.91, saving £16.09 on the high street price.

Now every girl needs a swimwear cover-up so I headed to Harrods
to flick through the beachwear. Nestled among the diaphanous Diane Von
Furstenberg kaftans and Missoni crochet, I found a Zimmerman super-sized
leopard print vest which would look just as good flung over jeans for a
day in the Now office as it would slung over a swimsuit which was £169,
a saving of £30.50.

The biggest travel trauma for a high maintenance Style Editor and international jetsetter is the 100ml rule, and not being able to carry on your beauty products.

Luckily, other than the 60cc/ml limit on pure perfume, this doesn't apply when you buy them at the terminal, so with minutes to my final call, there was only just enough time to blitz World Duty Free so I swiped a bottle of Chloé Eau De Fleur for £48, saving me £27, then sprinted to my gate as fast as my Havaianas would carry me!

Bon voyage!
