If this is the truth, I'd rather be lied to...

As a fully paid up member of the He’s Just Not That Into You generation, I heart a chick flick as much as the next girl who can’t get a boyfriend. I also have a high tolerance for rom-coms with the flimsiest of plotlines and the most predictable of endings.
Went to a late showing of The Ugly Truth on Broadway with someone who really should know better in New York the other week. The adorable Katherine Heigl plays a high-flying control freak who kicks ass as a TV producer by day, and can’t get a second date by night. Sound familiar?
Anyway…
Enter Gerard Butler - Hollywood’s new hunk and rumoured to be the next guy Jennifer Aniston can’t get to commit to her – playing a straight-talking, sharp shooting dating anti-Christ who helps her get to second base with the tanning booth bronzed male model with a doctorate who’s just moved in next door.
I’ll let you guess the ending…
Or better still, instead of watching The Ugly Truth, just re-read your copy of He’s Just Not That Into You instead. Really.

In no way do I or any of my friends who have read "He's just not that into you" and seen "The Ugly Truth" agree with this. Chick Flicks are always going to be slightly similar. It's the way of the world but everyone still watches them because they want to see a film that makes them smile. "The Ugly Truth" does more than that. It made me laugh so hard my sides and cheeks hurt. Believe me people it's an AMAZING film. I would pay to see it again at the cinema!
agreed, i went to see it with my best mate whos a girl and a gay mate, we all loved it, and now all want a pair of those pants, i laughed at it, but still near the end made me cry, deffinetly buying it when it comes out on dvd :)
I agree also, so it was a kind of predictable ending but it made me laugh so much!! My sides were actually hurting, I will definitely be getting the DVD!!
