As a fully paid up member of the He’s Just Not That Into You generation, I heart a chick flick as much as the next girl who can’t get a boyfriend. I also have a high tolerance for rom-coms with the flimsiest of plotlines and the most predictable of endings.
Went to a late showing of The Ugly Truth on Broadway with someone who really should know better in New York the other week. The adorable Katherine Heigl plays a high-flying control freak who kicks ass as a TV producer by day, and can’t get a second date by night. Sound familiar?
Anyway…
Enter Gerard Butler - Hollywood’s new hunk and rumoured to be the next guy Jennifer Aniston can’t get to commit to her – playing a straight-talking, sharp shooting dating anti-Christ who helps her get to second base with the tanning booth bronzed male model with a doctorate who’s just moved in next door.
I’ll let you guess the ending…
Or better still, instead of watching The Ugly Truth, just re-read your copy of He’s Just Not That Into You instead. Really.
