She may have just split with her fella Freddie Fuller, but birthday girl Amelle Berrabah has plenty to celebrate. The Sugababes have just been signed to Jay-Z’s record label, Roc-A-Fella records so they’re heading to the States on this week to record their new album with Rihanna’s writers with cracking America-worthy hair looks.

The Sugababes’ superstar session stylist Paul Percival - one half of  Percy & Reed and the creative genius behind my Comeback Cut - called my celebrity hairdresser hotline to tell me, ‘Amelle really wanted a new look so I gave her a Percy MOD. It is a heavily undercut and texturised version of the iconic graduated bob that’s slashed to pieces. She’s been very brave.
