Cult waxing bar Strip opens its Fulham Road flagship

I’ve always been forthcoming about my penchant for Hollywood waxes. I’ve also been equally forthcoming about my penchant for Paul Sculfor. I didn’t, however, expect to come across them both in the same room at the same time.

This was just one of the pleasant surprises at opening party of cult waxing bar Strip - another of which included rocking up the Fulham Road in sub-zero temperatures to find a male model in the shop window clad only in a pair of Calvin Kleins for warmth.

For the uninitiated, Strip started as a one-stop-sex-kitten-shop with a bijoux boudoir feel created by celebrity make-up artist Maria-Louise Featherstone - who powders the noses of Victoria Beckham and Donna Air and is papped with me below – and her equally stunning sister Danielle. Tucked away Talbot Road in Notting Hill, Strip offers a selection of saucy smalls on one floor and practically pain-free Hollywood and Brazilian waxing on another.

Strip’s new Fulham Road signature store retains all of the sex kitten chic on a much more grandiose, SW3 scale with Stella McCartney and La Perla lingerie luxuriously lit by majestic chandeliers, and opulently styled treatment rooms seeking inspiration from their trademark chocolate and hazelnut, lavender, gold leaf, and berry Brazilian waxes.

There’s even a designated men’s room offering eye-watering Brazilian and Hollywood waxes for him. Wonder if that’s why Paul Sculfor stopped by?!

And as I plucked a dark chocolate-coated strawberry from a silver dessert canapé tray at the party, I could’ve sworn I knew the canapé waitress from somewhere. “Yes, I waxed you last week,” she replied. “How did the date go?”

A full price list is available on the Strip website, Laura. All you have to do is click where it says Strip in pink. It'll take you straight there, and you'll find it in the Menu section. Have fun!
