A bit of a do at Percy & Reed

One of the best things about being a Style Editor is having good friends in high fashion places, one of whom is superstar session stylist Paul Percival, coiffeur to the Sugababes and one half of Percy & Reed, the hairdressing powerhouse behind London’s hottest destination salon.

It's an honour to be sitting in a chair in front of Paul Percival and my hot date hair is always very safe in his hands. Yet, having denied to the BBC that I’m the poster girl for the new Bridget Jones generation, I have a post-modern style dilemma only Bridget could find herself in.

Remember the scene in the movie when Bridget was choosing her pants her hot date with Daniel Cleaver? “Hmm. Major dilemma. If actually do, by some terrible chance...end up in flagrante...surely these would be most attractive at crucial moment. However, chances of reaching crucial moment…greatly increase by wearing these. Scary stomach-holding-in panties. Very popular with grannies the world over. Ha. Tricky. Very tricky.”

What I need to decide is should I put my appointment on hold and unleash my Paul Percival haircut on my next non-existent hot date in the indeterminate future, or if rocking a Sugababe-worthy, come-to-bed barnet courtesy of Paul Percival would increase the chances of securing my next hot date? Tricky. Very tricky.
