Back off Twi-hards! Twilight's Kristen Stewart is no cheating tramp
It emerged this week that there are T-shirts doing the rounds with a picture of Kristen Stewart, 22, and the joke ‘Trampire' printed on them.
The world's love affair with Kristen came to an abrupt end when she cheated on Robert Pattinson with the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders, 41.
Yes, she was in the wrong. The backlash however has been terrible.
Twilight fans are obviously an unforgiving and somewhat intense bunch and enjoyed seeing the romance of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen played out in real life with Kristen and R-Pattz.
Can you imagine the pressure this must have put on their relationship? It seems as if the Twi-hards put impossible and unrealistic scrutiny on them as they lived their own lives through this Hollywood couple.
Is this the 1800s? Should she go around wearing a scarlet ‘A' (standing for adulterer) on her clothing? She's not a charlatan or a hussy but just a young girl who made a mistake and held her hands up to admit it.
Most people will have experienced something similar to this and at her age it is almost par for the course. So really, should she be vilified for it to this level?
Also I think it's quite sexist and not really very ‘girl power' for everyone to have such double standards.
For example, David Beckham continues to be the golden boy despite stories about an alleged affair with Rebecca Loos. In fact, it was Victoria Beckham who got accused of being ‘cold and ‘aloof'!
The girl screwed up and is no doubt in a terrible place right now. Let's not get carried away and verbally lynch her, yeah?
