Dan Wootton's celebrity villain and hero of the week: Jessie J and Geri Halliwell
Some people are going to hate me for saying this but...GIRL POWER is back - and I couldn't be happier about it!
Watching Ginger Spice's entrance to the X Factor auditions in Liverpool on Wednesday, where she was starting as a temporary judge, was like entering a time machine and going back to 1997.
Geri knows that joining the judging panel on a permanent basis (which looks pretty likely at the moment) will provide a huge boost to her career.
At 39, she remains just as ambitious as when she started with the Spice Girls.
For that reason, I refuse to join the doubters who try to say Geri's, shall we say, exaggeration of her own talents will end up ruining X Factor. It won't.
The show thrives on competition between the judges.
And if Geri is one thing it's competitive. She'll take it seriously, be desperate to win and, I'm sure, cause many a fight along the way.
Come on Simon Cowell, give her the job for real and let the games begin!
VILLAIN: JESSIE J
I have never been so embarrassed during a talent show as the moment Jessie cut her live performance short before it had even begun on Saturday's episode of The Voice.
Could you imagine Mariah, Gaga, Madonna or even Leona doing that? OF COURSE NOT!
True pop professionals soldier on. Remember when the late Whitney Houston went through her entire X Factor performance with her dress falling off because of a wardrobe malfunction? Microphone mistakes and other gaffes are all part of the job.
If that is how Team Jessie 'rolls', as she says, then I think their chances of winning The Voice are non-existent.
