Why Harry Styles' romance with Caroline Flack was never going to last

Controversial couple have called it a day

Harry Styles is back on the market

After just 3 months together, Harry Styles and Caroline Flack have decided to end their relationship - and we can't say we're too surprised.

A gorgeous couple they may make, but these two had a lot of factors working against them.

In the brief time they were together, Harry and Caroline experinced death threats, ridiculous pregnancy rumours, naked (fake) photo leaks and relentless disapproval of their romance.

Though their families are said to have been happy for them, the 15-year-age gap between Harry and Caroline was too much for most to get over.

And I wouldn't mind betting my One Direction calendar that the massive age gap was the reason for their split.

At 32, Caroline is just a year younger than glamour girl Katie Price, is the same age as George Clooney's girlfriend Stacy Keibler and was born a whole 10 months before mum-of-one and Hollywood actress Michelle Williams.

At 17, Harry - born in 1994 (vs Caroline's 1979) - came into the world in the same year as Justin Bieber and is younger than Britain's Got Talent dancer George Sampson.

When party-loving Caroline was first hitting the pub with mates, Harry was quite possibly not long out of nappies.

Over a decade later, were he not touring the country as part of the country's biggest boyband, Harry would be sitting his A Levels.

Meanwhile, Caroline is 3 years over the average age that women have their first child and is keen to settle down.

'I'd like my twin sister Jo's life. She's got a lovely partner, a gorgeous house and two kids,' says Caroline.

'That's definitely the next step for me.'

Two people who are at such different stages in their life were never going to last. 

Form an orderly queue, ladies - Harry's single again. Women over 32 need not apply.
