Middleton or Moss: who will have the wedding of the year?

So if the rumours are true, 2011 will see the nuptials of not one, but two famous Kates.

While there was no official confirmation from the Kate Moss camp at the time of writing, newspapers today reported that the 37-year-old supermodel got engaged earlier this week and will tie the knot with boyfriend Jamie Hince this July.

Which means when it comes to Weddings Of The Year, we've now got double the fun!

We'll be able to scrutinise every detail of the respective big days and compare rival bridesmaids, celeb-laden guestlists, hen nights (I'm guessing Mossy's is going to be a lot more fun than Middleton's) and, most importantly, dresses.

I can't see either Kate kicking up the aisle in a 12 stone Big Fat Gypsy Weddings-style meringue - it's a given both girls will go for a more sophisticated look.

Fashion queen Kate Moss loves 1930s style, so I expect she'll go for a draped, silk number - probably by one of her BFF designers, such as John Galliano or the late Alexander McQueen.

Meanwhile, what's the betting future queen Kate Middleton opts for a simple, safe - and most of all respectable - a-line gown? Nothing too glitzy, nothing cut too low. (I hope she at least insists on a serious train that stretches half-way up Westminster Abbey's lengthy aisle.)

My verdict on Kate v Kate? I'm excited about both big days. But while Ms Moss easily scores points with me on dress anticipation, I'd rather go to the Middleton ceremony. Imagine the ‘I was there' stories you could tell your mates!

And if either of my namesakes are reading this and have a spare invite, you know where I am...
