The White Ribbon

Unsettling story of fear and mistrust in a small German village which just could point to why the country fell to Nazism

The White Ribbon is set in a lovely German village in 1913.

Then a series of horrible accidents befall residents and unsettle the villagers.

We gradually realise they're not really accidents and fear and suspicion falls rightly or wrongly on a group of children.

The German language film won the Palme D'Or at Cannes and asks questions of how evil begins and why it grows when we do nothing to stop it.

The White Ribbon is out on DVD now
