Keira Knightley wears stunnign costumes in The Duchess

A beautiful and spirited young girl marries an emotionally stunted aristocrat who cheats on her.

Sounds familiar, but Keira Knightley, who stars as Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, hotly denies any link with Princess Diana even though the 18th century duchess was Diana’s ancestor and also died tragically young without ever finding true love.

The story is touching and the costumes are beautiful – designer Michael O’Connor won an Oscar.

Keira portrays the misery of a bride trapped in a loveless marriage and Ralph Fiennes as the Duke exhibits genuine bafflement that an aristocratic wife might want more from him than status.
