Last night I met Mariah Carey

Before turning on the Christmas lights at Westfield, Mariah Carey launched her new fragrance at the Dorchester hotel and I was there!

Ok, so Mariah Carey was over an hour late for her perfume press launch but I have to say she definitely knows how to sell a scent!

Us beauty editors were filled with champagne and cakes while we were waiting for her. Then, after showing us clips of all her interviews in the states T4's Rick Edwards introduced Mariah and said: ‘Lets all clap for Mariah.'

She glided into the Christmas tree filled room with her minder holding her hand before she sat on the stage ready to be interviewed by Rick.

Considering she is the only artist in the world that has had 18 number one hits, she was actually quite open to answering all of Rick's cheeky questions and she even showed him the sexy places that her scent should be applied.

Her new fragrance, Forever Mariah Carey £20 for 30ml, is available now exclusively at boots.com and just three of their London stores (08450 70 80 90).

She said: ‘I never liked perfume till I worked on my first scent and I don't like an over the top fragrance so for this one I used Gardenia and Tuberose to make it breezy, light and feminine.'

At the end of the launch we all got to have our picture taken with her and as I ran into shot I thought, what do I say? So yes I did say hello and Mariah sad hello back!

Not bad considering she's an international superstar, but I didn't dare put my arm around her!
