After an hour in the company of Aaron De Mey I skipped back to the office feeling inspired, flattered and completely charmed.
I was inspired because Aaron didn't just talk about the Lancôme Spring Make-Up collection. He showed us his scrapbooks packed full with his influences, he talked about his feelings for the collection and he referenced one of my favorite beauty icons, Bridget Bardot.
And even though there was no makeup demonstration I came away with a clear understanding of SS/10's key make-up trends and in fact even a glimpse into future trends with Aaron declaring that he is trying to deconstruct the seasons so that is just as ok to wear heavy shadow in summer as it is winter.
His key message was that he loves extreme opposites and I have to say that comes through in the SS/10 collection with camouflage green shadows mixed with the prettiest peach blush.
The Lancôme, O My Rose, collection isn't out till 15th January 2010, but as I was chatting to Aaron he totally flattered me and asked me what blush I was wearing and told me how on trend I was.
Embarrassingly it wasn't a Lancôme blush but if you want to be on trend like me right now, check out M.A.C's Mineralize Blush Duo in Earth to Earth, £16.50.
